![]() Last year, we took in 6 tigers, two of whom were extremely elderly. These cats are now lively, happy, playing, running, and enjoying their lives. We have taken in cats who literally could not walk, could not stand, who no one expected to live. We ensure that for whatever time they have left, they are loved, well fed, comfortably housed and receive the best veterinary care available. We have taken in many cats who only had a very short time left, and who needed extensive medical care. Many of our cats are the ones that no other rescue wanted – very elderly, sick cats, who no one thought was worth the effort to care for. ![]() We provide a safe, loving home to 59 exotic cats, the majority of whom were rescued from horrific conditions (some were voluntarily surrendered by their previous owners). In the past year, we have become accredited by the American Sanctuary Association, and verified by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. I am very proud of the work I have been able to do with In-Sync Exotics. While many of our cats came from not ideal situations, they are happy, healthy and loved - and they are with us for the rest of their lives. There is nothing in this world that makes my heart smile as much as this place. If you are looking for a place to visit, donate to or volunteer at and you have a love for big cats - this is the place to do it. ![]() My passion for this place still grows after 3 years of volunteering here. The whole experience of this outbreak, getting to know all the cats here, the care and love they receive daily - it made me grow as a person - it made me stronger - it made me a better person and it made my heart full. I will have to say it made me question my decision to volunteer here at first - but - there were other cats who also needed care and love. I never knew my love for a cat could grow so strong in such a short time and then to have my heart ripped out when they didn't make it. I was just getting to know these cats and then watched them and called keepers when I felt the cat needed them. It was the most heart and gut wrenching time to see these apex predators fall to such a cruel disease. A short two months after I started is when disaster struck at In-Sync in the form of canine distemper. ![]() I had always had a passion for big cats, but had never truly understood just how special they are. This is when my life changed - I was a volunteer with In-Sync and hooked. Two short months later I was laid off from my job of 35 years - so I decided to just early retire and needed something to do. I was hooked, but was too busy with work. I first visited In-Sync in December 2012 for their Xmas lights tour. ![]()
